M+Co is a content production company offering premium research, writing, and creative services for arts and culture ventures.

For 25 years M+Co has produced archival image and footage research and clearances, history position papers, and editorial services to the media industry. M+Co supports creative executives and enterprises—from authors and publishers to exhibit designers, film and television producers. M+Co advises or provides creative direction for non-profit and corporate media projects.

M+Co’s principal, Melissa Totten, has an open mind, a broad range of interests, a sense of humor, and a skilled eye for just the right image or character that can bring a project to life.

She is a multiple Los Angeles Emmy award-winning arts documentary producer, past director of 20th Century Fox’s photography archive and the archives at FOLK New England, and a published writer and editor of art monographs and catalogs.

Melissa Totten graduated magna cum laude from Wesleyan University (B.A.) and the University of Texas at Austin (M.A.) in American Studies. She pursued further training at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, the Poynter Institute, and George Eastman House.
